Ice Hockey: Little luck, lot of work gives Downingtown East first win

WEST GOSHEN — Highly ranked Downingtown East took the ice on Friday in search of its first win while Unionville, on the other hand, was trying to prevent a losing skid for the first time this season.

Downingtown (1-1, 1-2) coaches and teammates alike gave extremely high praise to goaltender Jeff Cummings. The sophomore allowed only two goals on 38 shots, leading his team to a big first victory.

While praising his netminder, Downingtown head coach Dave Hendricks gave an inside look at the way his goalie works.
