Ice Hockey: Crestwood ousted from Flyers Cup

WEST CHESTER — The season may have ended earlier than Crestwood would have wanted, but there’s no doubt the players could be proud of what they had accomplished.

Not only did the Comets become the first team from Northeastern Pennsylvania to even make it into the prestigious Flyers Cup tournament, but they stunned teams from around the southern portion of the state when this 19th seed kept advancing deeper into the tournament.

“We were kind of an unknown,” said Crestwood head coach Paul Eyerman. “We had a wonderful time. The rinks were great and the Flyers Cup was a wonderful experience for us.”

Unfortunately, that experience came to an end when Crestwood matched up against the No. 2 seed and defending state champion West Chester Rustin.
